Introuduction : The purpose of this study was to determine the prevalence of openbite in 11-14 year old boy students in Ahwaz in 2001 . Materials and Methods : This study was a descriptive cross sectional investigation with cluster sampling on 744 students (11-14 year old boys). Results : The total prevalence of open bite was 14/2 % . 7/8 % exhibited only anterior open bite , 6/1 % posterior open bite and 0/4% showed both anterior and posterior
open bite . Conclusion : Open bite has relatively high prevalence in Ahwaz . early diagnosis and treatment can inhibit many future complications .
