The objective of this clinical study was to evaluate the efficacy of infiltration injection of dexamethasone on post-endodontic pain of necrotic teeth. Materials & Methods: In this clinical study 30 single canal teeth with necrosis, were randomly divided into 2 groups of dexamethasone and control. After administration of local anesthesia and preparation of the access cavity, root canals were shapedusing step back technique and filled using lateral condensation technique. Then in dexamethasone group, 1ml of dexamethasone was injected through infiltration in periapical region of the roots. Post-operative pain was assessed after 6, 12, 24 and 48 hours using a visual analogue scale (VAS). Results: Statistical analysis revealed that severity of pain in dexamethasone group, was generally lower than the control group in the first 48 hours, especially in 6 and 12 hours after treatment but this difference was not statistically significant (P≥0.05). On the other hand, in experimental group, patients reported their pain in wider range in comparison with the control group. Conclusion: Infiltration administration of dexamethasone did not reduce post-operative pain severity in the first 12hours after endodontic treatment. Post-endodontic pain severity was not different between men and women and either maxilla or mandible.}, keywords = {Post-operative pain,Root Canal Therapy,Dexamethasone,Infiltration injection}, title_fa = {مطالعه کلینیکی تاثیر تزریق انفیلتراسیون دگزامتازون بر روی درد پس از درمان ریشه در دندان های نکروز}, abstract_fa = {مقدمه: درد بعد از درمان ریشه یکی از مشکلات این درمان به حساب می‏آید. هدف از این مطالعه بالینی، ارزیابی میزان کارآمدی تزریق انفیلتراسیون دگزامتازون در دندان‏های با تشخیص پالپی نکروز، روی پیشگیری و کنترل دردهای بعد از درمان ریشه بود.                 مواد و روش‏ها: در این مطالعه کلینیکی، 30 دندان تک کانال که با آزمایشات وایتالیتی و نیز به صورت کلینیکی نکروز بودن آنها تایید شده بود انتخاب و به طور تصادفی به دو گروه تقسیم شدند (دگزامتازون و کنترل). پس از تزریق بی‏حسی موضعی و تهیه حفره دسترسی، کانال‏ها به روش استپ بک شکل‏دهی و نیز به روش تراکم کناری پر شدند. سپس در گروه دگزامتازون، 1 میلی‏لیتر دگزامتازون (4 میلی گرم) به صورت انفیلتره در ناحیه پری‏آپیکال دندان‏ها تزریق شد. درد بیماران با استفاده از Visual analogue scale، در زمان‏های قبل از درمان، بلافاصله بعد از درمان، 6، 12، 24 و 48 ساعت بعد از درمان ارزیابی شد. یافته‏ها: اختلاف معنی‏داری بین دورهای مختلف ارزیابی بین دو گروه از نظر میزان درد بعد از درمان وجود نداشت (05/0P>). از طرف دیگر گستره درد گزارش شده (اختلاف بین بیشترین و کمترین شدت درد) در بیماران گروه مورد، نسبت به گروه کنترل محدودتر بود (05/0P>). نتیجه گیری: تزریق انفیلتره دگزامتازون بعد از اتمام درمان ریشه، اثر قابل توجهی در کاهش درد بعد از درمان ریشه در دندان‏های نکروز نشان نداد. درد بعد از درمان ریشه در بین زنان و مردان و نیز فک بالا و پایین اختلافی نداشت.}, keywords_fa = {درد بعد از درمان,درمان ریشه,دگزامتازون,تزریق انفیلتراسیون}, url = {https://jmds.mums.ac.ir/article_1993.html}, eprint = {https://jmds.mums.ac.ir/article_1993_3ca3383357a3c23c3559e10e753d0c47.pdf} }
