Therefore, it would be efficient to engage them in oral health promotion programs. The purpose of the present study was to evaluate primary care providers and the physicians’ self-confidence in terms of oral health care and the prevention of oral diseases and the associated factors. Materials and Methods: In this cross-sectional study, a self-administered questionnaire was sent to all PCPs (n=680) and physicians (n=220) working at seven health centers in Tehran. The questionnaire consisted of items, such as oral health knowledge, background information, and oral health behavior (OHB). Two items sought information about the self-confidence of PCPs and physicians regarding dental caries diagnosis and offering advice on oral health. The data were analyzed using logistic regression. Results: The mean ages of the physicians and PCPs were 39±8/0 and 37±8/0, respectively. Out of 34, the oral health knowledge scores of the physicians and PCPs were 18.2±4.5 and 17.2±4.5, respectively. 34% of the physicians and 27% of the PCPs showed self-confidence in terms of dental caries diagnosis. With regard to offering advice on oral health, 32% and 34% of the physicians and PCPs provided the patients with oral health counselling, respectively.The higher levels of self-confidence in terms of dental caries diagnosis and oral health counselling with parents obtained in physicians who had the higher scores of oral health knowledge (P>0.05). The PCPs working in deprived areas (P>0.001) or those with higher OHB scores revealed to be more confident (P>0.05). Conclusion: In spite of the fact that oral health is an essential component of primary care, physicians and PCPs revealed the lower levels of self-confidence in this regard. Therefore, it is essential to provide physicians and PCPs with appropriate OHB and self-confidence training which leads to the improvement of community oral health.}, keywords = {Physicians,Oral Health,Dental Caries,self confidence}, title_fa = {بررسی اعتماد به نفس پزشکان و کارکنان مراکز بهداشتی-درمانی در تشخیص پوسیدگی دندان و ارائه مشاوره ارتقاء سلامت دهان به بیماران و عوامل موثر بر آن}, abstract_fa = {مقدمه: در مقایسه با دندانپزشکان، تامین کنندگان مراقبت های اولیه سلامت، شامل پزشکان و کارکنان بهداشت خانواده ارتباط بیشتری را با گروه های هدف متفاوت دارند. هدف مطالعه حاضر، تعیین اعتماد به نفس پزشکان و کارکنان بهداشتی در رابطه با وضعیت سلامت دهان و پیشگیری از بیماری های دهان و دندان و عوامل مرتبط با آن بود. مواد و روش ها: در این مطالعه مقطعی، کلیۀ پزشکان عمومی (220n=) و کارکنان بهداشت خانواده (680n=) شاغل در مراکز بهداشتی درمانی هفت شبکه بهداشت شهر تهران مورد مطالعه قرار گرفتند. پرسشنامه شامل سوالات در زمینه دانش سلامت دهان، اطلاعات زمینه ای و رفتارهای سلامت دهان شخصی و دو سوال در مورد اعتماد به نفس پزشکان و کارکنان بهداشت خانواده در تشخیص پوسیدگی و دادن مشاوره در زمینه سلامت دهان بود. آنالیز آماری داده ها توسط رگرسیون لوجیستیک انجام گرفت. یافته ها: میانگین سن پزشکان 8±39 و کارکنان بهداشت خانواده 8±37 سال بود. میانگین نمره دانش در پزشکان 5/4±2/18 و در کارکنان بهداشت خانواده 5/4±2/17 از 34 بود. تنها 34 درصد پزشکان و 27 درصد کارکنان بهداشت خانواده، در زمینه تشخیص پوسیدگی دندان اعتماد به نفس داشتند. همچنین در مورد مشاوره درباره ی مراقبت دندانی، تنها 32 درصد پزشکان و 34 درصد کارکنان بهداشت خانواده، عنوان کردند که اعتماد به نفس کافی دارند. پزشکانی که دانش سلامت دهان بالاتری داشتند، در هر دو زمینه تشخیص پوسیدگی دندان و مشاوره با والدین اعتماد به نفس بیشتری نشان دادند (05/0>P). در کارکنان بهداشت خانواده، کارکنانی که در محل کمتر برخوردار شهر مشغول به کار بودند (001/0>P) و آنهایی که نمره رفتارهای سلامت دهان شخصی آنها بهتر بود (05/0>P)، اعتماد به نفس بالاتری در تشخیص پوسیدگی دندان داشتند. نتیجه گیری:علیرغم اینکه سلامت دهان جزئی از سلامت عمومی می باشد، اعتماد به نفس پزشکان و کارکنان بهداشت خانواده در این زمینه در مجموع پایین بود ولازم است که از آموزش ها و متعاقب آن اعتماد به نفس مناسب در زمینه همکاری درارتقاء سلامت دهان و دندان جامعه برخوردار گردند. }, keywords_fa = {پزشکان,سلامت دهان,پوسیدگی دندان,اعتماد به نفس}, url = {https://jmds.mums.ac.ir/article_12474.html}, eprint = {https://jmds.mums.ac.ir/article_12474_28cdd281b50b784a82bfaf3bbcbc2f0b.pdf} }
